It trains and certifies doulas in professional birth support and business operations, rooted in Black maternal health, ancestral wisdom, and advocacy. Black Pearl serves two audiences: birth workers and doulas who want to certify, build sustainable practices, and grow through mastermind gatherings and community, and families seeking culturally rooted doula support for birth, prenatal, postpartum, and menopause. The Collective's three core programs are Doula Certification, Business Building, and Mastermind and Community, with continuing education, networking, and mentorship for birth workers at every stage. Family-facing services include birth support, prenatal support, postpartum support, and menopause support, always with advocacy and healthcare navigation. Why Black Pearl exists
Black maternal health is the heart of this work.
The CDC reported that in 2024, Black women experienced 44.8 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births, more than three times the rate for White women. Black Pearl trains doulas who respond with culturally aligned support, advocacy, and education, so families feel informed, respected, and accompanied.
The doula role is non-clinical
Doulas provide emotional, physical, and educational support. They help clients prepare questions, communicate with their care team, and understand their options. Doulas do not diagnose, treat, or replace physicians, midwives, or nurses.
